Arctic Hybrid Heat/Chiller Tank 80 Gallon

Arctic Hybrid Buffer Tank – Lightweight, Rust-Free, and Highly Efficient
💧 The Only Pressurized Composite Buffer Tank
The Arctic Hybrid Buffer Tank is the only pressurized composite buffer tank on the market. It is better insulated than steel tanks, roughly half the weight, and will never rust, offering a modern, reliable solution for hydronic systems.
🌡️ Superior Insulation & Performance
-
Never corrodes or rusts
-
Half the weight of steel buffer tanks, reducing labor and installation costs
-
Improves system efficiency by reducing heat pump short cycling during low load periods
-
Hydraulically separates the source from the distribution system
-
Rated to 180°F at 75 PSI and 140°F at 100 PSI
-
NSF-approved polypropylene core wrapped in continuous strand fiberglass and high-temperature resin
-
Insulated with closed-cell foam for unmatched R-value and less than 1°F heat loss per hour
⚙️ Versatile Applications
-
Ideal for hydronic heating & cooling, low-mass boiler systems, and chilled water applications
-
Available in sizes: 22, 40, 55, 80, 120 gallons
-
Each tank includes 4 stainless steel side ports, thermal well (except 22-gallon), vent, vacuum breaker, and drain
🔄 How It Works
Buffer tanks reduce short cycling of heat pumps, chillers, or boilers. Most systems operate below design load most of the time or have multiple low-BTU loads calling at different times. The Arctic Hybrid Buffer Tank acts as an energy battery, storing heated or chilled water for use when needed. Its 4-port design hydraulically separates supply and demand, ensuring the high-flow circulating pump of the heat pump is independent from the system’s distribution pump.
⚙️ What It Does
-
Two ports connect to the heat pump or boiler
-
Two ports connect to the distribution system
-
When piped correctly, the tank serves as both a thermal buffer and a hydraulic separator
💸 Highest Efficiency
No other buffer tank matches the Arctic Hybrid in heat loss efficiency. With 41% less heat loss than the next comparable buffer tank, it saves money, improves system performance, and will never rust.
