The SANCO₂ Gen5 GS5-45HPC-D heat pump pairs with the ECO-83SSAQB 83-gallon stainless steel storage tank to provide domestic hot water through a split-system design. The outdoor heat pump transfers heat from the surrounding air to water stored in the separate tank.
An inverter-driven compressor, R744 CO₂ refrigerant, and an insulated stainless steel tank support efficient operation. This combination has a 3.80 Uniform Energy Factor and a 121-gallon first-hour rating. The GS5-45HPC-D includes a drain pan heater for cold-weather defrost operation.

Manufacturer warranty coverage is subject to purchase eligibility, application, installation requirements, and all policy conditions and exclusions. Confirm eligibility before purchase.
- Heat pump: For eligible residential domestic hot water installations, three years of parts and covered labor, followed by seven additional years of parts coverage.
- Refrigerant circuit: Qualifying refrigerant-circuit failures requiring the circuit to be opened may qualify for heat pump replacement during the ten-year parts warranty.
- ECO-83SSAQB tank: Fifteen-year limited warranty, with ten years at full replacement value followed by five years of prorated coverage.

Very nice expansion tank. Mine is a 16 gallon. Has feet so it will sit on the floor next to your boiler and doesn’t have to be mounted on the wall.
It’s sturdy enough to support your Air Separator, Pressure Regulator and Backflow Preventer.
I recently installed my new 29kw BTH Ultra boiler and so far I am really impressed.
We live in an old 2 story brick farmhouse built in 1814! This unit replaced an Outdoor Wood Boiler with a 750 gallon tank. It was about 30 years old and last winter the tank rusted thru and busted.
We have 11 cast iron “American Radiators” and they heat the house well.
The BTH will heat all the water to 150 degrees in about an hour and we don’t have to build a fire and wait hours.
The most impressive part is the Outdoor Temperature sensor. When it’s not that cold outside, the unit doesn’t turn on all the elements at once and slowly heats the water which saves a lot of electricity in the warmer months!
I’m looking forward to see how well it does when the temperature drops between 0-30 and it snows and I don’t have to go outside several times a day and load wood. I’m confident the Ghost Rider will perform!
