The Stiebel Eltron Accelera® E family provides efficient domestic hot-water production using an integrated air-source heat pump. Rather than relying primarily on electric resistance heating, the Accelera system transfers heat from the surrounding indoor air into the storage tank. A single 1,500-watt booster element is positioned near the top of the tank to provide additional hot water during periods of unusually high demand.
The family includes the 58-gallon Accelera 220 E and the 79.8-gallon Accelera 300 E. Both models operate on a 220–240V, 60 Hz electrical supply with a single 15-amp circuit breaker. Their large storage tanks, heavy insulation and heat-pump-focused operation are designed to reduce standby losses and limit use of the backup heating element.
A digital display provides access to operating information and available hot-water volume. Additional shared technologies include smart-meter readiness, a wrap-around roll-bond condenser, an electronic impressed-current anode, a coated self-cleaning evaporator and a cold-water inlet designed to reduce mixing between incoming cold water and stored hot water.
The Accelera E family uses R134a refrigerant and is backed by a 10-year limited warranty. The products conform to UL Standards 1995 and 174, are certified to applicable Canadian CSA standards and are WQA tested and certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 for lead-free compliance
